Who we are
Study OS is operated by kardo dizayee, trading as Study OS. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: support@studypartner.dev.
What we collect and why
- Account data — name, email address and login credentials, so we can create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Study content — lecture text you upload or paste, notes, flashcards, quiz results and tutor conversations, so we can generate and store your study material. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
- Usage and device data — pages used, feature usage, approximate location from IP address, browser and device identifiers, for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting and improving the product. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a safe, reliable service.
- Support messages — what you send us when you ask for help, so we can answer. Legal basis: legitimate interests and contract.
- Marketing emails — only if you opt in. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legal records — records we must keep by law. Legal basis: legal obligation.
Who we share it with
- Service providers — hosting, database, email delivery and AI model providers who process data on our instructions to run the service. Study material you submit is sent to our AI provider to generate notes, flashcards, quizzes and tutor replies.
- Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record, for selling Pro, subscription management, payments, invoicing and tax compliance.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where needed.
- Authorities — where we are required to disclose by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where data leaves the UK or EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and study content while your account is open. If you delete your account we delete your study content within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons, which are deleted or anonymised once no longer needed.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our use of it, or send it to another provider, and you can withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email support@studypartner.dev and we will reply within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, access controls and per-account data isolation so no student can read another's material.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences — these are required for Study OS to work. Our payment provider sets cookies during checkout to process your order securely. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but signing in will stop working.
